Now that the RunDNA web portal has the ability to create Garmin-compatible workouts in the Library, you may want to convert some of your existing cardio workouts to Garmin-compatible workouts rather than re-creating the workout.
To do this, from the Library Workouts page, use the Actions menu to select "Convert to Garmin Workout". (This option will only be available on Cardio Workouts). Selecting this option will convert the workout to a Garmin-compatible workout. Note: This conversion cannot be undone.
Because of the restrictions on Garmin-compatible workouts, there are a few limitations to this conversion:
- A cardio workout that contains exercises cannot be converted.
- The cardio workout must be Running/Walking only, Biking only, or Swimming only.
- Cardio Workout descriptions will be converted to plain text (stripped of their HTML and styling), and any links and images in the description will be removed. The description will be truncated to 1024 characters.
- If both distance and time are specified on a cardio workout step, the distance value will be used when converting it to a Garmin step.
- If the activity type of a cardio workout step is Walking, this will be converted to a Recovery step for a Garmin Running workout, and "(Walking)" will be added to the Garmin step Description.
- If the Cardio Intensity Type is RPE or VDOT, this information will be placed in the Garmin step Description field.
